departed for the airport slightly pass 8am, even earlier than planned cause the guy came early, and i was mentally freaking out a bit in the car cause i couldn't remember if you needed your IC too. it was inside my wallet and i left that at home cause i was rushing everywhere. apparently you didn't. hah, haha ^^" singapore airlines, stopped by singapore on the way and did some colouring(more like shading) at the kiddy corner in the airport :P Then watched the sisterhood of the travelling pants 2 on the plane :] The ride was pretty short and i actually finished the food, for once in a pretty long while. haven't been touching my food much and mostly sleeping throughout the journeys for the past few years -______-" Arrived sometime in the afternoon, stayed at THE MANSION. pretty~
Headed over to CAFE LOTUS for dinner. was kinda early though, i think.
it had a sorta garden place behind, a lily pond, and then some sort of temple further up.

Walked around after that. shopping and stuff ^_______^ well actually just shopping. haha! fun fun
then went to IBU RAI for supper :P

Then walked around UBUD somemore ^^ don't you think this one has such pretty steps? yesh yesh?!
oh oh and uber cute tables!! kinda dwelling on the idea to doodle on some drawers in my room now o(^-^)o *inspired* haha Cakes in TUTMAK! mom kept trying to drag away the carrot cake while i was trying to take this pic -.- so typical of her not to realize :D Went water rafting after that~ pics to come.. :x it wasn't as rough as expected but then again i didn't really expect anything. it was pretty fun but not that exciting. dad was disappointed. heh! It was pretty mild. There were the "boom" "booms". could be self-created by paddling really fast then hitting a rock. Saw people bathing along the stream o_____O i thought it was okay, especially for the first time :|
Then had dinner at.. darn, can't remember the name. but it was a little buffet and the service was super good \(^-^)/ oh right, the place was called BUNUT.

wanted to see the volcano. dad managed to find a driver the day before to take us, charging a good price :]
stopped a couple of times. 1) to take pics with the paddy field backdrop. got this buddha thing made out of bones. well done but it's kinda creepy if you really think about it =.= and cause of the bargaining, the seller actually tried to swap the buddha thingi. tsk tsk. what the la, some people. -________- there were all these people trying to sell us, even while waiting in the car, they kept waving items right outside. 2) Then at a store. clearly the driver was getting commissions out of these. 3) A coffee plantation. Had cocoa, cinnamon, coffee, fruits...etc)
Tried a few drinks: coffee, cocoa and ginger
PLUS! tried the supposedly really good and expensive one (not the best which is blue mountain but still one of the best according to certain sources -.-) - luwak coffee. (not in the picture, had to purchase this one) It's well.. basically the process starts like this: A little mammal, known as the paradoxurus/civit cat/luwak live in the trees and they love red, ripe coffee cherry. They eat the cherres, bean and all. (It can also be found behind my house -.-) Anyway, while the cherries/beans are in the little guy's stomach they undergo chemical treatment and fermentations. Finally, it exits. Yeah, like... uh poop. The still-intact beans are collected and are then cleaned(very thoroughly i hope). Then there's the usual roasting and grounding blah blah.

The volcano: not as high as gunung agung but that one's sacred anyway.
apparently you can hike up there to watch the sunrise if you begin at approximately 2am ^_________^ wanna try that sometime, it'd be fuuuuun~ haha
5) Stopped by this place which sold paintings(lots of little shops around but this one was pretty big)--: there were the painters.. (even little kids).. not famous of course
6) Then there was the jewelry store. Bought a black mother pearl pendant :] 7) Surawati market, the driver said that the things sold at the ubud market near our hotel are cheaper there. Mostly bargained for 50% discounts :] some were real easy. probably should've asked for 70% to start off then -_____-

had a really nice garden! a lot bigger than it looked from the front ^^"

originally wanted to stay at the jasmine residence but it got booked so ended up in heliconia with mom and dad right across in gardenia.
Ubud market: lots of vespas at the field. there's suppose to be some sort of exhibition/show thingi for people with all this.
Walked around more.. so much to cover~! Then went to ARYS WARUNG for lunch
Went for field tracking with dad but photos can't be retrieved right now cause of camera issues -_- it sucked anyway. walked so much for the same bloody scenery over and over again.
According to the book, the trail was suppose to be really nice but really, it seemed a lot better in the book. Like the french concession trail in Shanghai which was also a bit dissappointing. But kinda worse cause everything in this case looked the same. According to the guide, supposedly if we'd called up sooner instead of making it a spontaneous decision, he could've arranged for a better trail. Gah. even said there were snakes o_______o

Mom's canon got unconcious the night before so ended up having to use sister's camera for the rest of the trip. was so bummed T_____T
Anyway, moved from UBUD to SANUR. Stayed at LA TAVERNA :] the room was pretty cute. had a little patio sort of place, an upstairs bedroom and was kind of mama mia-ish. or cottage-like if you will, think Goldilocks and snow white with less beds :P
Temple visit! Pura Luhur Uluwati ^______^
Had to wear a sarong cause of my shorts and i think the idiot taught i was a guy -____- really. fool.
Since we were way ahead of schedule, had tea at BULGARI. the place was huuuuuuuge! needed a buggy to get around :O heard it's the most expensive hotel in BALI.
Finally, dinner at JIMBARAN
the purpose was to watch the sunset actually but feh, the clouds got in the way. don't like sunsets anyway. so friggin depressing and way too overrated.

Went to KUTA. was originally meant to stay there but the hotels were all booked. very happening ^_____^

a bombing occurred around here some time ago. talk about freaky.

the one thing i absolutely can't stand about bali is probably the disgusting amount of house flies. always around food! waiters always say it's cause of the raining season and all.

hung around the beach. cycled. :Pafter much instability, i managed. hehe! probably should've worn a "caution: incoming hazard". well some people were definitely moving out of the way like that. hmph
had a manicure and pedicure done.
not bad considering the price.
sister got braids done (and so did dad) but couldn't stand it after more or less 5hours. =.=
no sun!! urgh. and it was extremely upsetting cause the very next day it was sooo sunny!!
got a temporary tattoo :D a dragon above my ankle. doubt it'll last two weeks though cause a lot of ink seemed to have run off when i first bathed :(
NEW YEARS EVE DINNER!
the hotel had a compulsory one with performances and such ^^
Then we went further along the beach for a while before heading back as it got closer to midnight.
the fireworks were pretty good!! especially considering they were let go by tourists. dad wanted to get some but we tested a few out the night before and none seemed very nice xD
and.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! there was no countdown though. just people screaming and blowing the party horn thingi. i was deleting pictures to ensure more space on the camera xD. what the la.

watched nick and norah's infinite playlist on the way back. it was awesome!! love love!! easily one of my faves \(^-^)/
